Kordsa, one of the world’s leading advanced materials companies, participated in the international aircraft interiors industry trade show Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) 2026 alongside its Italy-based subsidiary, Microtex Composites Srl. At the fair, held in Hamburg, Germany, from April 14–16, Kordsa presented its sustainable and advanced composite solutions developed for aircraft interiors to industry professionals.
As criteria such as lightweight design, durability, and safety become increasingly critical in the aviation industry, sustainability is also taking center stage in product development processes. Kordsa, a subsidiary of Sabancı Holding, showcased its solutions that reduce environmental impact and enhance performance in cabin interior applications at the AIX 2026 Expo, where it participated alongside its Italy-based subsidiary, Microtex.
At AIX 2026, which brings together airlines, manufacturers, designers, and suppliers, Kordsa’s booth drew attention with its product portfolio focused on eco-friendly technologies—a key priority for the industry. Among the products showcased were Nomex® honeycomb core solutions widely used in the aviation sector, sandwich panels, natural fiber-based thermoset and thermoplastic prepreg products, as well as bio-based and flame-retardant prepreg solutions.
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY, HIGH-PERFORMANCE PREPREG SOLUTIONS
Kordsa’s flame-retardant products offer an environmentally friendly alternative thanks to their solvent-free structures and additive-enabled fire resistance properties, while also meeting aviation safety standards. Nomex® honeycomb and sandwich panel technologies combine lightweight structure with high durability in cabin interior applications, contributing to fuel efficiency and significantly supporting operational performance.
Bio-based flame-retardant prepreg solutions also help reduce the carbon footprint in composite manufacturing processes, enabling the production of materials with enhanced fire-retardant performance.
